SEC Mission  

The Social Enrichment Center was founded to support individuals, families, schools and community organizations. Our objective is to build children's and adolescent's self-confidence and social connectedness. SEC provides direct care to young people, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic and instructional strategies. Further, our team equips caregivers with developmentally appropriate skills and strategies to build children and adolescents' social competencies.

Young Adult Transition Sessions 
Available for ages 18-21
 

Designed to facilitate the transition from high school to either college or the workforce, this experience will develop the skills necessary to move into adulthood. Weekly sessions are designed to foster overall social skill development as well as guide individuals through the adolescent to adult transition.     
 
1hr weekly group sessions available starting June 27
Meets Monday's from 4-5pm 
 
Sessions can be modified and individualized depending on need.
 
Increasing social and personal independence
  • Cultivating relationships with peers
  • Managing social media
  • Planning all aspects of a successful social outing (transportation, money needed, coordinating plans with others)
  • Developing personal skills and habits necessary for successful independence in school or work
Navigating adult transition services
  • Understanding the importance of adult related services available to individuals
  • Planning financial independence
  • How to plan for future endeavors beyond college

Increasing social independence
  • Managing social media
  • Planning all aspects of a successful social outing (transportation, money needed, coordinating plans with others)
  • Developing personal skills and habits necessary for successful independence in school or work
Navigating adult independence
  • Understanding and assisting with adult related services
  • Planning for financial independence (managing bank accounts, paying bills, etc)
  • How to develop effective work and career skills
  • Building a resume and applying for jobs
  • Transitioning to independent living
